Many of the Princeton Land Trust properties have hiking trails, and these are generally supported by a Kiosk plus directional signage. PLT has worked with the town open space committee (OSC) to build and maintain the trails. The Open Space Website contains documentation of many of the guided hikes that are conducted on PLT land.
The following are links to maps and hike descriptions to many of those hikes and trail systems. For more information about the trails, trail areas, guided hikes, and other aspect of the hiking experience in the Princeton area, visit the Open Space Website.
Bullock-McElroy Loop: A 1.5 mile walk through the PLT Bullock-McElroy fields and forest, walking over a high esker and down by Krashes field.
PLT Russell Corner Loop: A two mile walk down through the PLT Peabody-Metcalf property to a beaver pond and out to PLT Hall Field property, returning through the PLT Poor property.
Calamint HIll and PLT Appell Loop: 3.5 miles of trails including the town of Princeton Boylston and Calamint Hill Conservation Area (CHCA) properties as well as the PLT Appell property. This hike goes down to a large beaver pond on the CHCA side, and to the South Wachusett Brook on the Boylston Park side.
Four Corners Loop: A 2,2 mile loop down to the East Branch of the Ware River and back through PLT Scoutland and PLT Four Corners properties, including a walk through the Princeton Hayfields.
Cobb Brook Trails: Two miles of trails going from Worcester Road down to two beaver ponds along Cobb Brook, passing through the PLT Giard property.
Red Fox Farm: 2 Miles of trails from Worcester Road passing through the PLT Red Fox Farm property with an optional extension down to Holden Trout Brook Conservation Area and the Central Mass Rail Trail.
Gregory Alexander Trail: A one-mile connector trail between the town center (off Prospect Street) and Route 31/East Princeton Road, passing through the PLT Gregory and PLT Alexander properties. A spur trail also goes down to Gregory Spring.
There are many ways in which these trails can be combines to provide longer or shorter (or different routes), some of which are documented on the OSC pages.
