McElroy

In November of 1995, PLT received a gift of 18 wooded acres fronting on Bullock Lane. The property was given in memory of Mrs. Vera Bullock by her three children. Until she married and moved to Ohio, Mrs. Bullock spent several months each year at the summer home of her father, Chandler Bullock.

The McElroy property is largely wooded, with natural springs providing some wet areas even in the driest months, making the land attractive for wooded ferns, flowering plants and wildlife as well as upland species.

The property can be explored from Bullock Lane. Trails have been developed between the McElroy and Bullock properties north to Krashes field, and a kiosk marks the entrance to one of the trails. Trails are also marked with directional signs, and a spur trail called the Cary Trail provides an easy way to get to route 31 and the Gregory-Alexander Trails, which connect to the center of town.

A great view of Mt Wachusett is available if you walk through McElroy property and look off to the North.
