Fieldstone Farm

In 2016, PLT worked with Mass Audubon to protect the 170 acres Fieldstone (Smith) Farm on Hubbardston Road. This land includes beautiful hay fields on both sides of Route 62 for nearly a half mile, West of the center of town. The 270 acres were distributed and protected to raise project funding. Much of the land is preserved as hay fields. The farmhouse is being renovated by a new owner. The wetlands are owned by the town of Princeton with conservation restrictions held by DCR and the city of Worcester, and three lots were sold for residential development.

PLT and Mass Audubon both retained a small share of the land. The PLT parcel includes 17 acres located about a half mile west of the farmhouse, on the North side of Hubbardston Road. PLT owns the road frontage of this property and Audubon owns the land on the North side of the beaver pond. The property is mostly high and dry, with many large rocks (below)
