PLT Trustees recently improved the parking area to be used for hiking in the Peabody/Metcalf properties.

These trails are a hidden gem in the center of Princeton! All well-marked trails and pretty views. You can park by the Princeton Land Trust sign on the way up Rte 62, just before Merriam Rd. and hike in. From Sterling, the PLT sign can be seen on the left off Rte 62 when approaching Merriam Rd. From the center of Princeton, follow Rte 62 just past Merriam Rd and the parking area is on the right.

At about the half mile mark a smaller trail goes off to the right into PLT land donated by the Poor family (marked by orange flags). This trail loops down past a stone monument. At the bottom of the hill, a strong unmarked trail veers to the right and back to the open Hall fields, while the main trail loops back around by a nice open marsh.

Trails lead down to the marsh, or you can return up the hill and back to the main trail to the parking area.
