In 1994, Mrs. Irene Holt of Grafton donated 2 acres on Ball Hill Road to PLT in memory of her husband, William E. Holt.

The property is primarily wetlands, which are valuable to the local water supply. Wetlands remove pollutants from streams, reducing flooding by storing water during periods of high stream flow and returning water to streams during dry spells.

The donated land adjoins a feeder stream to South Wachusett Brook, which supplies water to the Quinapoxit Reservoir in Holden.
